More investigations - and in particular North American investigations - indicate that even though, in principle, a plastic tree can last forever, this is not in fact the case. The average durability of a plastic tree is no more than 5-6 years, and the most frequent reasons for replacing a plastic tree is the desire to have a new tree, that parts of the tree fall apart and that the packaging for storage is broken.
With a durability of no more than 5-6 years, the plastic tree has a highly negative impact not only on the environment and climate but also on human health and resource consumption.
